BIO

Bob is honored to provide a wide range of employment advice and training to businesses.  Bob is a Principal in the Employment Law group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Bob’s counseling practice includes providing advice to employers regarding discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, wage/hour compliance, leaves of absence, disability accommodation, WISHA compliance, affirmative action compliance and many other workplace issues. Bob helps his clients comply with the many federal, state and local labor and employment laws by reviewing handbooks and employer policies as well as conducting internal audits and investigations. Bob conducts highly entertaining and interactive seminars and training classes for managers and non-managers alike regarding myriad workplace issues. His most popular programs include Maintaining a Respectful Workplace, Accommodating Disabled Workers, Managing Leaves of Absence and Employment Law 101: It’s Not Rocket Science.

Bob represents companies in a wide array of industries, including aerospace, hospitality and restaurant, financial institutions, health care, manufacturing, utilities, real estate, construction, telecommunications, technology and nonprofit organizations.

Bob is a frequent speaker on employment law topics and has also published several articles. His update of employment law developments held annually in June has become overwhelmingly popular, and is a highly-anticipated event for clients. Prior to joining Riddell Williams in 1995, Bob served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert R. Beezer, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to the Honorable Gerry L. Alexander, then-Washington Court of Appeals, Division II.

Bob currently serves on the Advisory Counsel of Boyer Children’s Clinic, and is a Past President and former member of the Board of Directors. He served one term as a Trustee on the ACT Theatre Board of Trustees.

Bob received his B.A. from Williams College, with honors in History, cum laude, in 1990; and his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, in 1993. He received the John W. Davis Prize, awarded to the graduating law student with the highest academic average.
