New Hires: Brett Durbin and James Wendell

Riddell Williams P.S., a firm providing comprehensive legal services to the business community for over 100 years, is pleased to announce the addition of two new attorneys, Brett Durbin and James Wendell.
Brett Durbin. Brett has extensive experience in state and local tax matters. He has handled cases involving the assessment of state excise and property taxes at every level, from the administrative level to the state Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Riddell Williams, Brett was an Assistant Attorney General for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, where he represented the Department of Revenue in judicial and administrative proceedings involving state and local taxes.
Brett is a member of the Litigation, Tax, and Corporate Finance and Securities practice groups.
James Wendell. James is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Before joining the Firm, James worked as a judicial extern for Judge Catherine Shaffer in King County Superior Court. James was a summer associate at Riddell Williams in 2012.
While in law school, James served as Editor-in-Chief of the Washington Law Review. James was also selected by the faculty as a legal writing fellow—teaching legal writing to first year law students. James received the 2013 Dean’s Medal, which is awarded to the graduating student who best combined academic excellence with outstanding contributions to the law school community.
